Kristy Turner
Bolton School Boys' Division/University of Manchester School Teacher Fellow
Manchester
I am a school teacher fellow uniquely splitting my time between teaching chemistry at Bolton School Boys' Division and the University of Manchester. As part of my work at Manchester I am an active researcher in chemistry education with research interests in balancing equations, assessment design, curriculum, modelling and transition from school to undergraduate level study.
I regularly write for Education in Chemistry, Chemistry World and Nature Reviews Chemistry with a portfolio ranging from opinion, anecdotal, observation and science writing and resourcing. In addition to this I'm an active member of the RSC involved in many different projects including initial teacher training, continuing professional development and curriculum as well as being the current Chair of the editorial board of Education in Chemistry.
I also occasionally appear on TV, my TV credits include Countryfile, Newsround and the BBC2 primetime series Back in Time for School (Jan-Feb 2019).
