Dr Rachael Sharpe, a qualified secondary physics teacher, joined the School of Education atthe University of Lincoln as a Senior Lecturer. Prior to this she undertook her doctorate atthe University of York where she also worked on undergraduate programmes. Rachael isnow the Programme Leader for the PGCE Secondary and is also the Post Graduate ResearchLeader. In addition to her teaching, Rachael has a strong interest in the area of students’attitudes to, and attainment in, science and was recently the PI on a project on pairedmentoring in secondary school science.Rachael studied for her first degree in Education Studies and Science at the Bishop Grosseteste University. After which she undertook a PhD in Science Education at the University of York examining students’ attitudes to practical work in secondary school science. Rachael then completed her PGCE Secondary Physics at the University of York. She has recently been awarded a Teaching Excellence Award in 2016 at the University of Lincoln as well as being elected a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2017.
