I am a school teacher fellow uniquely splitting my time between teaching chemistry at Bolton School Boys' Division and the University of Manchester. I am an active researcher in chemistry education with research interests in assessment design, curriculum, modelling and transition from school to undergraduate level study. I regularly write for Education in Chemistry, Chemistry World and Nature Reviews Chemistry with a portfolio ranging from opinion, anecdotal, observation and science writing and resourcing.I'm an active member of the RSC involved in many different projects including initial teacher training, continuing professional development and curriculum.
